What is the EFHL?

The EFHL (Elite Fantasy Hockey League) is the ultimate Fantasy hockey lover’s dreams come true for FREE.
Fantasy team owners love competition and the idea of being a GM of their own team. The EFHL gives more purpose and structure than the standard league.
Gm’s will try to work their way from the CHL up to the NHL to compete for the EFHL championship and ultimate bragging rights. Standings and stats will be kept here online, up to date which will enhance your fantasy experience!

Leagues:

The leagues consist of the NHL (Tier 1), AHL (Tier 2) and the CHL (Tier 3). Leagues will max out at at 20 teams. Each league will have the same amount of GM’s. In the inaugural season GM’s will be placed randomly into one of the 3 leagues Teams will be ranked and placed into proper leagues in year two. Each GM will be assigned a team name, which will comply with the league they are in (Ex. St Louis Blues in the NHL league, Oshawa Generals in the CHL, etc.). Once a GM has been given a team, this will be their identity for the remainder of time they spend in that league. If they shift leagues they will take one of the available team names.
Each league has two divisions, East and West. Each year there will be a determined amount of teams that make the playoffs. For example if there are 20 teams in the league, 12 teams will make the playoffs, 6 from the East, 6 from the West.
Do your best because your standings will determine which league you belong to each year! Each year GM’s will gain points and will battle to see who is the best Fantasy Guru!
Depending on interest there is the possibility of expanding to more leagues so if your friends are interested tell them to sign up for the EFHL!

Inagural Season:

In the first season each league will have equal status so teams can be ranked properly for the following season. For example, there are 20 teams in each of the 3 leagues. At the end of the season the top 5 teams in each league will move on to the NHL league and the bottom 5 teams will move to the CHL league. The remaining 5 spots in the NHL league will be given to the next 5 teams with the best records. In other words, this is the seeding year!

Fantasy Rules:

Each league will have the same rules. The format is Head to Head, each category. There are various categories that will be included to ensure that GM’s consider all types of players instead of the standard sniper forwards. Categories include: Skaters: Goals, Assists, Points, Plus/Minus, Penalty Minutes, GWG, Faceoff Wins, Shots on Goal, Hits, Blocked shots, Defensemen Points. Goalies: Wins, Shutouts, Goals against Average and Save Percentage (Minimum 2 starts).

Roster:

Each team will consist of 18 players. Teams will have 14 starters and 4 bench spots. Each roster will also have one IR spot. Rosters will be locked daily at each scheduled game time.

Drafting:

Each draft will be a snake draft. In the inaugural year, each team will have an equal chance for the first overall pick, as the draft order will be completely random. In the upcoming seasons there will be a draft lottery depending on what place each team came in the prior year. Teams are able to trade draft picks but they must be reported to the league commissioner. To trade draft picks equal amounts of picks must be traded to ensure all teams have a full roster. Trading future draft picks is not aloud currently, although this may change in the future.
Draft dates will be set by your league commissioner but will most likely be held on a Sunday night prior to the NHL season starting.

Transactions:

Each team will be allowed to make 4 moves a week, which includes picking up players and trades. There will be no limit to trades made throughout the year. The league commissioner will set a trade deadline date. If a trade is deemed unfair the league commissioner has the power to veto the trade. If there is any dispute, the EFHL manager will take care of the issue.
